Enabling Service Delivery

PSBA Delivers 200 site swine flu network at record speed - November 2nd 2009

With a need to support up to 200 UA sites across Wales to permit the public to get clear and up-to-date Health Briefings on Swine Flu PSBA ensured that when Health setup swine flu centres around Wales they communicated to the Health's database servers

With tight timescales PSBA provided more than one technical option, designed a solution that met the urgent needs of the current potential public crisis facing us with swine flu and organised a proof of concept all the way through to roll -out.

Initially 17 UA’s, with WAN capacity, were set up to able to connect Swine Flu Centres with all 22 UA’s being connected at the end of the project.

Other interested parties e.g. IHC, HSW and the WAG, HSW and several RO's were involved in the initial concept to ensure every possible opinion was covered to build a solution that was timely , technically beneficial, scalable and commercially robust to all the parties involved.

Site locations varied from libraries to sports centres but always had the immediate issue ‘how to retain the integrity and security of the health network while permitting the public to gain totally current and accurate briefings to give them peace of mind’ which PSBA covered

The project as a real impact on the real world, with the ability to see the real benefit i.e. facilitating health requirements
