‘Always better value, usually cheaper …’ Are you getting the benefit of PSBA? - 23rd March 2010

PSBA delivers a network which is typically cheaper and exceeds the benefits offered by existing networks. It offers greater value for money, provides a common infrastructure and language for collaboration and offers an effective procurement route to support buying Once for Wales.

The Welsh public sector has made significant investment in PSBA and most organisations are already seeing the benefits of this investment through savings in network costs. This is just the beginning as PSBA is proving able to deliver more than just network cost savings.

Many organisations have reported a number of additional benefits spanning unexpected cost savings, greater security and network resilience, potential for productivity increases, better ways of working and increased collaboration. In practice, PSBA helps organisations transform the way they do business, improving the delivery of public services across Wales.

Connection to PSBA paves the way to a range of long term benefits. With some active planning, the potential of the network can be exploited to provide even greater value for years to come.

The PSBA Connectivity Benefits Catalogue

The PSBA team has worked with organisations to capture and catalogue these benefits. The catalogue highlights the key areas of added value and provides some tangible examples of benefits reported by organisations using PSBA. Experience of realising benefits can thus be shared with other colleagues delivering public services in Wales. The catalogue aims to help you identify and exploit the opportunities enabled by PSBA. PSBA benefits ‘on the road’

To help you maximise your PSBA investment, PSBA will be running a series of benefits sessions. The first of these is in April 2010. Targeted at business and technical representatives alike, these sessions will be designed to help promote thought and discussion around what benefits can be achieved through PSBA connectivity and to give practical help on their achievement.
