Capacity Management – July 22nd 2009
Due to the continued growth of PSBA, the first upgrade of core infrastructure since the backbone was upgraded to 2.5Gbps has taken place.
This upgrade was required not only because of new customers adding more traffic but also the continued growth of existing customers.
The requirement was identified as part of the ongoing Capacity Management process that is undertaken by the PSBA Service Delivery Team.
Each week detailed analysis of the links is undertaken, considering such things as current and expected usage by existing users along with impact of adding new customers or upgrading existing user’s connectivity.
This work is vital and ensures that the service to current users is not impacted as we continue grow PSBA in a controlled and cost effective way.
